– Inspection of structural elements such as the keel, frames and stringers
– Replacement of deteriorated and/or compromised parts
– Restoration of the planking
– Tightening and overhaul of fastenings (screws, rivets, nails) and reinforcement of connections.

Wood and Mahogany Restoration
The restoration of fine woods on classic boats is designed to restore wooden surfaces to their original splendor. The main processes include:
  • Stripping, removal of old finishes, and sanding that respects the grain and character of the wood.
  • Precision sanding: a manual finish to achieve perfectly uniform surfaces that are silky to the touch.
  • Multi-coat varnishing cycle: application of numerous layers (up to 28) of clear varnish, with intermediate sanding, to ensure depth, transparency, and long-lasting protection.
  • Final polishing that enhances the mahogany grain and imparts the characteristic “mirror-like” finish of finest classic boats.
Preparation Of Wood For Painting

A service dedicated to historic and luxury vessels: this is a traditional craftsmanship technique that enhances the natural beauty of the wood grain. After the wood has been prepared, the vessel

undergoes a series of finishing coats, with up to 28 coats applied to fine woods such as mahogany.

The result?

Total protection against water, humidity, and sunlight: the shine and depth of color remain over time. This treatment is ideal for owners of yachts and classic boats who desire a spectacular and long-lasting result.

Metal Polishing and Chrome Plating
Polishing metal parts restores their original shine and protects the metal from corrosion. To ensure optimal results over time, we recommend having the polishing treatment performed at least once a year.

Procedure: disassembly of parts and removal of non-metallic components, cleaning, sanding to remove deep scratches and oxidation, polishing with abrasive pastes of varying grits, finishing with polish (mirror effect), protection with waxes or anti-corrosion sealants.

Re-chroming: After disassembling the parts from the boat and removing gaskets and plastics, the metal parts are sent to an external company specializing in chrome plating.

Procedure: the old chrome is removed using chemical baths to expose the base metal (steel). Scratches and small corrosion pits are sanded down, and an intermediate layer of copper is applied to level out micro-imperfections. After applying one or more layers of nickel to provide shine and corrosion resistance, a layer of chrome is applied to achieve a mirror finish and high wear resistance

Final polishing and reassembly, including the replacement of any worn gaskets and fasteners, is performed at the LIDORAMA REFIT BOATYARD
Upholstery Refurbishment
A complete upholstery refurbishment includes the replacement and customization of all exterior and interior upholstery, using marine-grade materials that are resistant to salt, UV rays, and moisture.

On the exterior of the boat, we use closed-cell foam padding and waterproof technical fabrics such as marine-grade faux leather—waterproof, easy to clean, and ideal for exposed cushions and pillows.

The upholstery for the cabins, bulkheads, and dinette is renewed using stain-resistant and antibacterial fabrics, coordinated with the boat’s style (Marine faux leather: more breathable, durable, and easy to maintain; OR, for more elegant finishes, Alcantara or marine microfiber).

Every project is custom-made: we start by taking precise measurements, proceed with cutting and hand-stitching, and finish with final assembly, ensuring comfort, durability, and a completely personalized aesthetic.
